New Release: Bang (Single) – Minimal / Deep Tech / Acid

I’m very pleased to bring you my latest independent release, Bang. This is a single + alternate mix that brings a quirky step and acid vibes to the party! Check it out below:

The Tracks

Bang (Original Mix) is a deep tech groover with a bit of a quirky step to it. It’s got a synthetic percussion leading the way and a blues harp (trust me it works and it’s cool as hell) for punctuation.

The alternate bonus mix, Bang (Acid Redeye Mix) is a complete rework of the track and its samples into an urgent, high-energy stomper featuring a screaming 303.

The Inspiration

This one has been a long time coming. It actually came into being shortly after Groove Ministration EP dropped, but it was a strange one in that state. I actually couldn’t decide what to do with it. After some on-and-off tinkering over the subsequent weeks (and the addition of a certain OG space bounty hunter), I decided I had something worth dropping. But it was just so different from my other unreleased material that I couldn’t pair it with anything.

That’s when I decided to just draw up an alternate mix and make it a single. I thought about how I could get good and far away from the original idea, while keeping some identity. One day when I was having a play sesh with the 303, just for funsies, it occurred to me that I hadn’t made an acid track yet. And so, the alternate mix would be acid. A couple weeks later, the Acid Redeye Mix came together.

I wound up sitting on these tracks for a bit longer than I intended since Good Luck Charm dropped last month on Lacréta Records, but now the time has come.
